Skype linux beta version only works on 32-bit systems (as of today). I have a 64-bit system. This is a problem.
Fortunately, a kind person came up with a solution and posted it: http://tuxgurl.blogspot.com/2007/06/setup-skype-on-ubuntu-x64.html
Do every step, and it will work.

First post
So the purpose of this blog is two-fold:
That's it! I've benefited quite a bit by people posting solutions (on forums) to a variety of issues they face when dealing with programming/hardware/whatever, so here is my attempt at giving back.
